Duthies Auchentoshan 19yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$129.00

A brand new whisky range and a well priced one at that, from Wm Cadenhead and what a way to start the range than with a well aged Auchentoshan that is incredibly rich and creamy with plenty of honey, vanilla and apple fruit flavours. This is one drammable whisky. Mmmm, I think I'll just top up me glass...

Duthies Auchroisk 20yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$127.00

Big, big Auchroisk. A massive distillery that virtually nobody has ever heard of. There are hardly any official bottlings and even indie bottlings are hard to find. Most, if not all of the production goes into the J&B blend. So the decision to go with this Duthies was an easy one. And what a right decision that was. This is a excellent malt that belies its advanced age. I'll let Melbourne whisky professional Ryan Marshman do the talking, "Tasting Notes: Deep straw colour with straw hue. Lifted aromas of fairy floss, coconut, hot buttered toast, nuts, a smidge of sulphur, salt and mixed peel. A curious combination, though endlessly appealing. The palate is plush and generous, with big, rich malty flavours of new leather, dried fruits, a plethora of spices and waxy apple. The booming finish gives the slightest of prickles before fading to a very lengthy, leathery, spicy aftertaste. An unusual, yet entirely adorable senior citizen." Score: 93 PIc indicative only.

Duthies Clynelish 14yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$104.00

I like this new range from Cadenhead. Never been a fan of the old black, brooding packaging the old Cadenhead’s came in. This Clynelish is loaded up with marzipan, fresh orange zest and of course Clynelish's famous seaside saltiness. It initially starts of tasting hot and spirity, in fact it's quite bracing then it gets sweet and syrupy with a slight hint of peat at the end. The finish is crisply dry and peppery...and lasting. Most intriguing.

Duthies Cragganmore 15yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$115.00

Wow! An Indie bottling of Cragganmore...now that's a rare thing. And this Crag from Duthies, a new range of well aged & well priced malts from Wm Cadenhead, is probably the most forceful Cragganmore I've seen for a very long time. It's all chocolate, toffee, cinnamon & fudge on the nose but then the palate lets rip with dried fruits and citrus flavours and then a wave of sweet fudge envelops the entire mouth followed by a sweet & lingering finish.

Duthies Glen Scotia 17yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$122.00

A new range of well aged & well priced whiskies from Wm Cadenhead and I have to say that the bright labels and rotund bottles look very attractive. This 17yo Campbeltown malt is a right little charmer. This offering is the complete opposite of many Glen Scotia's I've seen in the past (i.e. not hot & spicy) as it is jammed packed with stone fruit flavours, vanilla, cream & caramel flavours & its very well rounded. There's also a nutty side to it too! And that's not the guys who are selling it.

Duthies Glenrothes 15yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$112.00

A private bottling of Glenrothes is always a treat. And this offering from Cadenhead's Duthies range is a beaut. Smelling of Highland toffee with hints of treacle and marzipan while on the palate it is surprisingly dry yet sweet with plenty tropical fruits and treacle flavours. Overall it is a full bodied style that has a dry finish.

Duthies Highland Park 17yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$121.00

Wow! Where did this come from. Pure Highland Park spirit that is so very zesty, dry and tangy. And get a load of the nose, it is so pungent, clean and fresh, chocked up with salty seaside notes and a fruitiness that reminds me of Fruit Tingles. And the dry zestiness continues to grab you once you get it into your mouth. Definitely pre-dinner and I reckon it work so well with grilled sardines. My mouth is just watering as I'm writing this down. Fabbo Duthies!

Duthies Laphroaig 11yo
700ml 46.00%

An offshoot of Wm Cadenhead, the Duthies range offers some pretty fine and well aged dramming and this L'Frog is no exception. This malt just sneaks up on you. At first you think it's sweet and gentle and then the peat kicks in and boy, does it have an impact. And then the dark chocolate, pepper and cinnamon arrives as well. And the coal smoke on the finish is very surprising as well as very satisfying. This ain't no bog standard Laphroaig...but that's why I love it! Great stuff.

Duthies Longmorn 19yo
700ml 46.00%
  Ret
$125.00

Longmorn's have always been sought after by a number of keen whisky drinkers, I suspect mainly for that big old fashioned style of taste and palate weight. This indie version should not disappoint, I'll let the chaps at Cadenhead's explain why, "Nose: Beautifully fruity. Raspberry pavlova, marshmallows, fruit jam, raspberry cordial and just the right amount of smokiness. Palate: Burnt caramel, vanilla and smoke complement the fruity flavours. Finish: A pleasant smokey tingle complete with ripe red fruits." It's the smokey tingle that appeals to me... Pic indicative only.
