Another in Jim Beam's premium whiskey range. Where Small batch and Bookers to a lesser extent are looking for batch variation, Bakers is searching for consistency, as they have said, "Baker's with a silky smooth texture and consistent taste from batch to batch. Baker’s is a remarkably smooth bourbon. Intensely flavorful, full-bodied and ideally balanced, it is preferred by Cognac aficionados, making for an excellent after dinner drink."

From the Jim Beam Premium stable this bourbon is the smoothe and mild one with a high rye content, leaving this bourbon with a distinct peppery taste.
From the Wine Enthusiast, "Color of the Basil Hayden Small Batch is a golden amber. Aromas of spice, tea and a hint of peppermint. Taste of a spicy and peppery, honeyed light-bodied whiskey, with a gentle after bite. Finish is dry, clean and brief. Awarded Silver Medal Bourbon"

Blanton's was the first ever Single Barrel Bourbon in the world, and it set the standards for others to follow. This fantastic product was named after the late Colonel Albert Bacon Blanton (1881-1959), who managed the largest distillery of its day. It was during that time that he created a very special and limited supply of bourbon, which he hand-picked and stored in what now is known as the famous Warehouse H. Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon is aged in one new American oak barrel for at least 8 years, unlike most others, never blended with any other bourbon.
Blanton’s Gold is the richest, the most complex and most well balanced of the Blanton’s range of superlative bourbons. You can almost pick sherry oak in this classy & classic bourbon.

Booker’s is part of Jim Beam's 5 whiskey premium range. First created by Beam distiller, Booker Noe in 1988, this bourbon was used as a holiday gift for his special friends; Booker's whiskey was so well-received that he decided to make it available to bourbon lovers worldwide. And as you can see, it's at cask strength.
By the way, Murray has rated an earlier version at 93pts, "...a combinative bourbon with all its considerable personality at full volume"

A sentimental favourite and the one that really got me going on bourbons: Rich, mature and complex. The Whiskey offers subtle notes of vanilla, mint, toffee, and light molasses, complemented by undertones of teaberry, anise and dark candied fruit. Its corn sweetness is balanced by the dryness of oak that comes with its expertly timed barrel aging.

The Bourbon that will change your mind about Bourbon's forever!! Have a look at the alcohol, but don't be scared off, this is an amazingly complex whiskey that is in total harmony. Layer upon layer of flavour, very remarkable.

What's this? Beam on the TOWC whiksy list? Sure is! And Why? Have a look at the price and then match that to Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2010 score....88pts. Not bad for a crisp, dry style of American "saddlebag" whiskey.
Here's a review, "Light amber in colour. Light nose with very subtle toasted oats and hazelnut aroma followed by an unusual chocolate end note. The palate displays a delicate, soft mouthfeel - slightly tart with citrus notes as more seasoned grainy and nutty elements appear. The palate fades relatively fast into a very soft finish with a hint of dried apricot emerging. A lighter style whiskey."

This is the 5th whiskies in Beam's super premium bourbon range, that includes Bookers, Bakers, Knob Creek & Basil Haydens.
Small Batch tries to emulate pre-prohibition bourbon, with the idea of each batch having its own unique style and flavour. And then the distiller adds a big dose of Port!! Full bodied and full flavoured and its 9 years of age as well.

A wheated bourbon from Kentucky’s Heaven Hill distillery. Lots of big, sweet luscious vanillin flavours, a touch of lemon and limes and finishing slightly dry, but it's oh so well balanced.
